Back in September there was a rumor that Marvel were about to announce a team up movie featuring Captain Britain and Black Knight and that it would be directed by Guy Ritchie (Snatch, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.). Now, whilst I have heard of Captain Britain I must admit to having never heard of Black Knight, so forgive my ignorance any fans of that character.

At the time the rumor from AICN stated that the movie would begin filming in November, and of course, nothing happened. Most of us therefore dismissed the rumor as being way off base. Yet a social media post from MCU Cosmic‘s Jeremy Conrad has kinda put it back in the spotlight again. Check it out.

Now, the clear hint here from Conrad is that Black Knight will be introduced through the Quantum Realm first seen in Ant-Man and then Ant-Man and the Wasp, but expected to feature heavily in Avengers: Endgame. The image on the post above is from the Quantum Realm and as eagle eyed fans have noticed by pouring over the fine details, that image does look like a little city contained in a bubble. Doesn’t it?

No one is saying this city somehow contains Black Knight, instead it merely shows the power and influence that the Quantum Realm could potentially have for so many properties in the MCU going forward.

I looked up Black Knight online and here’s a quick summary of what I found about his comics origins. He is an ancestor of a Knight from Britain in King Arthur medieval times. Apparently he inherits a curse or a power that is passed down in his family, eventually getting a magical sword called the Ebony Blade and rides on a flying horse called Aragorn (sure I’ve come across that name before?). Nothing that would seem to connect with the Quantum Realm for me, but who the heck knows what craziness Marvel are cooking up?

Of all the possible characters that could brought into the MCU, this one seems, one of the least likely. Lets face it, I’ve been a life long Marvel fan and had never heard of this guy, and I’ve heard the comics didn’t sell well back in the day. But Marvel seem to take unlikely ideas and make them work consistently, so who am I to doubt at this point?

Still, I say take this rumor with a hefty pinch of salt until it starts to get mentioned by some other sources also.

What do you think of the rumor, have you ever heard of Black Knight and would you want to see him introduced? sound off in the usual place below as always.
