The wonderful sea monster Sigmund is back.
Sid and Marty Krofft are bringing back the lovable children’s television series Sigmund and the Sea Monsters on to Amazon Prime programming. The show aired from 1973 to 1975 during Saturday mornings on television.
The plot revolves around the adventures of two brothers, who discover Sigmund, a friendly young sea monster. Sigmund was thrown out by his dysfunctional undersea family for refusing to frighten people. The boys used the Clubhouse as the hiding place as they’ll keep Sigmund safe from the sea-monster hunter Captain Barnabas.
The pilot is directed by Jonathan Judge (The Thundermans) and starring David Arquette (Scream) as Captain Barnabas. Garrett Frawley and Brian Turner (Santa Baby) wrote the new teleplay based on the classic series.
The show also stars Solomon Stewart, Kyle Harrison Breitkopf and Rebecca Bloom.
LRM was invited exclusively to interview actor David Arquette and show’s creator Marty Krofft over the summer at San Diego Comic-Con International 2017. We talked about their relationship and the reviving the show.
Sigmund and the Sea Monsters will premiere this Friday, October 13 on Amazon Prime. The first episode is available today for Amazon Prime members. Click here for a direct jump to Amazon Prime’s page for the television show.
